ROUGH CUT: Feedback from the rough cut toinclude a close analysis of one sequence that you plan to change in light of teacher comments

The Pro's and Con's of the Rough Cut:

The opening shot was absolutely stunning, the river with canary wharf twinkling in the background, was superb. The Camera movement was spot on, with the font of the text, which gave the right impression for what to expect.

We used the scenery well behind the artist, problem was that it was a completely different time of day to what the opening shot was. We tried to apply the filters in final cut, but it proved to be difficult.

The table scene, which took influence, from the video 'Headlines' by Drake. Proved to be one of the most entertaining and eventful parts of the video, Rhyme Royale was calm and composed, while his collegues were arguing.

When he slammed his hands on the table, to propose a truce with a toast. This gave off all the right signals, that he is a powerful don, that always has the last word.

The cut away of the champagne glass, being swished, out of focus slightly was something soft to the eye, which I believe fitted in well with the lyric, as we attempted to demonstrate illustration: 'With a big boy bottle of 'Pagne' (meaning Champagne)

We also had some powerful shots, such as this one, where Ryhme Royale is stretching his hands, that almost looks like as if he is trying to grab the buildings. This shows the dominance in power that he has, he came from a council estate to being able to run things in the glossy side of London City.

The Mise-En-Scene and costume, through out the video was conducted very well. We thought of formal and casual clothing, as depicted. The props such as money, was flashed about and all over the table. This showed that money isn't a object to Ryhme Royale.

The end shot was absolutely on point, he gave a nice smirk, and flicked the card of king of hearts. Which was a nice touch!

TOEKNEE THE TEACHA'S comments:
  • He suggested, that we should use more cut aways in the video during the chrous, as Rhyme Royale's vocals aren't used in those parts.
  • We should try to incorporate more locations of London, as we particularly used Canary Wharf quite a bit.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, we all know this, we needed girls for the video. The lyrics have a empathy on the female acquirment. However, being me I have managed to sort out a few girls to re-do the lounge scene, once more for Saturday 19th November at the Canopy Lounge.
