Andrew Goodwin believes that traditional narratives are not to be applied to pop video's reason being is that the purpose of a pop video is much more different from a movie. Goodwin went onto say that that pop video's are structured as closely to the soundtrack, and that the artist is placed into the video as a narrator and a character within the video, and that the artist interacts with the camera giving that feeling of direct performance between the artist and the viewer.
Goodwin believes that good pop video's consist of repetition during the chorus in the music video creating a sense of familiarity, so we can recognise it in various media platform such at TV.
